RBI governor emphasizes on financial inclusions to reduce corruption

Mumbai, Aug 14 (ANI): RBI Chief, Raghuram Rajan, vouched for financial inclusion of the poor, in a bid to reduce corruption and boost the developing economy. Speaking at an Independence Day Literature event in Mumbai, Rajan said that India's economy has improved substantially since Independence, but it still lags behind some other countries, such as South Korea, which got their independence even later. He added that direct cash transfers to the poor would help breaking the cycle of dependency. The chief suggested ways to transfer cash by the way of opening bank accounts and transferring government subsidies to those accounts.
