New Delhi, Dec 26 (ANI): Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Friday after the pre-budget consultation meeting with the finance ministers of the states said that majority of the states were in favor of early implementation of GST. He added that states even suggested that flagships of the centre like Jan Dhan Yojana should be more encouraged. Public sector units collaborate to revive shut fertiliser units

New Delhi, Dec 24 (ANI): Four major Public Sector Units (PSUs) signed joint venture agreements on Wednesday in an effort to increase urea output and revive closed fertilizer units. The four PSUs - GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited), Coal India Limited (CIL), Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers (RCF) and Fertilizer Corporation of India (FCIL) - signed agreements in New Delhi to set up an Integrated Coal Gasification cum Fertilizer and Ammonium Nitrate complex at Talcher in Odisha. Coal Minister Piyush Goyal, who was also present for agreement singing, said that the deadline for starting the units was March 31, 2019. Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister, Ananth Kumar, hoped that the country would soon start exporting urea. India's fertiliser requirement is 32 million tonnes annually whereas the production is 22 million tonnes. Dec 24, 2014

Rajasthan govt's Bhamashah Yojana to empower women financially

New Delhi, Dec 19 (ANI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje says that the influence of women is increasing day by day in all fields of society. Her government has launched the Bhamashah Yojana for the financial empowerment of women and it will benefit nearly 1.5 crore women in the entire country. The program is effectively co-ordinated with the 'Jan-Dhan Yojana' initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recently in an award ceremony organized by 'The Sunday Standard', Raje, who was the Chief Guest, presented awards to the Sunday Standard Devis. Twenty women were honoured for their exceptional contribution in the fields of law, art, health, business, fashion, adventure, hospitality, policing, architecture and music among others. Raje said that Rajasthan is no longer a state of women wearing long veils and occupied with household chores all day, instead they are representing the society individually. While it has huge potential in horticulture production, the region has to depend on other states due to lack of good quality seedlings. In a move to be self-reliant, the first of its kind agri hub nursery was inaugurated at the horticulture farm on Assam Agriculture University campus in Jorhat. It has been developed at a cost of Rs. 15 crores financed under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana. The nursery will annually produce 48 lakhs seedlings of various vegetables and seasonal flowers.
