New Delhi/Mumbai/Srinagar, Oct 16 (ANI): Telecom Minister, Kapil Sibal has said that Vodafone Group has planned to invest more than $2 billion in the country, a victory for a policy change designed to boost foreign interest and thin out the crowd of a dozen players in the world’s second biggest mobile phone market. The investment plan by Britain's Vodafone follows the removal in August of a cap on foreign firms investing in telecoms companies. Sibal on the occasion, also said that it was “possible” that the government could hold another auction of third-generation (3G) spectrum, which would be the first since 2010, but he gave no timeline for this. Opposition files dissent against JPC report in 2G scam

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): The main opposition, BJP as members of the Joint Parliamentary Committee probing the multi-billion 2G spectrum scam, expressed their dissent as they called the report flawed. Speaking to mediapersons during a news conference in New Delhi, senior leaders of the main opposition, BJP contended the report and said that they had filed a dissent. Party’s senior leader Yashwant Sinha, said that the report was just a bundle of contradictions. Earlier, Supreme Court had rejected the petitions of persons accused in the case, seeking review of its earlier orders, thereby restraining the High Court from hearing matters arising out of the scam. Politicians urge PM to talk tough with Pakistan

New Delhi/Allahabad, Sept 28 (ANI): Leaders across the political spectrum hope that Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh talks tough with his Pakistani counterpart, Nawaz Sharif and sends a strong signal to put an end to militant activities breeding from Pakistan.
