Jammu and Kashmir, Dec 14 (ANI): Voters in Jammu and Kashmir queued up outside polling stations on Sunday as the fourth phase of polling began. Voters said that vote is a powerful weapon with the public to choose good government by exercising their democratic right. There was a lot of excitement among voters, many of whom have been waiting since early morning for the polling booths to open. Voting for 18 Assembly constituencies is underway for Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Fourth Phase of Assembly Elections: Polling underway for 18 seats in J and K

J and K, Dec 14 (ANI): Voting for 18 Assembly constituencies began under the fourth phase of Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. In the penultimate round of the five-phased elections in J and K, the fate of 182 candidates including two chief ministerial aspirants and Speaker of the Assembly will be sealed. Over 14.73 lakh voters including 7.05 lakh females are eligible to exercise their franchise at 1,890 polling stations in four districts of the state Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian (Kashmir Valley) and Samba (Jammu region). Sonipat, Dec 13 (ANI): Family members of security personnel who died in the 2001 parliament attack said on Saturday that they were proud of the sacrifice made by him for the country. India is observing the 13th anniversary of the deadly parliament attack, in which 14 people, including five militants, six personnel of Delhi police, and three government staff, died, causing increased tensions between India and Pakistan. Garima Yadav, daughter of JP Yadav, a security personnel who was among those killed in the attack, said her father and others had laid down their lives for the country. Meanwhile, wife of Yadav, Prem Yadav, said India sent a strong message by punishing the attackers. New Delhi said the attackers, who detonated explosives and hurled grenades, belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba militant groups fighting its rule in Indian Kashmir and had intended to assassinate top political figures. Poonch, Dec 13 (ANI): Cross-border trade between Indian Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has picked up after recent flash floods damaged several bridges. The cross border trade at Chakan-da-Bagh was suspended in September due to the damage of the Time-Domain Reflectometer (TDR) cause way bridge on the Line of Control (LoC).This is the only link which connects Poonch in Indian Kashmir with Rawalkot in PoK. Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed worst flooding in September in which hundreds were killed and marooned. The valley is still recuperating from the after effects. The cross-border trade between the two nations was resumed after almost three weeks in October. Sopore, Dec 13 (ANI): In yet another gruesome killing of a Sarpanch in Kashmir, the sarpanch belonging to National Conference from Sopore area of Baramulla district was kidnapped and murdered by suspected terrorists on Saturday. According to the reports, unidentified gunmen on Friday evening allegedly kidnapped 62 year old Ghulam Mohammad from his residence in Tarzoo area of Sopore town. Sarpanch's family had lodged a complaint with the police following which a search operation was launched to rescue the kidnapped sarpanch. Police found his body on Saturday morning. Sarpanch's daughter said that at least four masked men had jumped over the compound wall of the house and forced the sarpanch out.
