BJP's Ravinder Raina attacked by PDP workers in Kashmir

Nowshera, Dec 20 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Nowshera constituency Ravinder Raina was allegedly attacked last night by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) workers. The BJP-PDP workers clash has reportedly left three BJP workers and two PDP workers injured. Following the incident, Raina was at first admitted to the Sub District Hospital of Nowshera. From there he was later referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu. Eye witness and Raina's driver said that the attackers were in large numbers and were shouting anti-BJP and pro- PDP slogans. BJP leaders of Jammu and Kashmir have reportedly condemned the attack and stated that the police will take legal action in this case. Dec 20, 2014

These traditional snacks have different varieties including Nadir Monji, Gaer Gouji. Made from lotus stem, chestnuts and other ingredients, these snacks have a great demand this season. These snacks are an essential part of daily lives of people in Kashmir during winters. A seller, Mohammad Azad, said on Friday that people come from far flung areas to get a taste of their favourite snacks. The angry crowd also vandalized a car and the security personnel were injured. People even shouted against Sidhu. According to the reports, Sidhu remained unhurt in the brawl. Sidhu was attacked while campaigning in Bohr camp today apparently over a statement he gave in Uttar Pradesh a month back. On Wednesday, Sidhu had reportedly appealed to the people of Jammu to 'disband' the Congress, People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Conference (NC) from the state, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had envisaged a vision for the state in which Jammu and Kashmir would compare favourably with Gujarat.
