Four civilians injured in cross-border firing hospitalized in Kashmir

Jammu/Ramgarh, Jan 03 (ANI): Four civilians, who were injured in shelling from across the border in Kashmir, were admitted to a government hospital in Jammu on Saturday (January 03). The injured belonged to Ramgarh and Hiranagar towns of Jammu region.Mohammad Hussain, a villager, said the firing hasn't stopped from more than twelve hours. In the fresh assault, Pakistani Rangers targeted several Indian paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) posts in Ramgarh town of Jammu district early Saturday. Barota camp in Ramgarh sector also came under heavy mortar fire. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Jammu Medical College and Hospital, RR Pal, said the condition of the injured was stable. One woman killed, two injured in heavy shelling by Pakistan

Samba, Jan 03 (ANI): One woman lost her life and three others got injured in the latest ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops on several BSF posts along the India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba and Kathua districts. Samba Deputy Commissioner of Police Mubarak Singh said that incessant firing has been taking place across the border since yesterday. Indian army provides medical care to boy injured in firing in J and K

Srinagar, Jan 2 (ANI): A boy who was seriously injured when security forces opened firing at a vehicle he was travelling in Jammu and Kashmir, thanked Indian army for providing him proper medical care. 19-year-old Zahid was injured in his right leg in an army firing in Chattergam in Budgam district in November when the vehicle he was travelling in with four other people did not stop at checking points. Zahid and one of his friends were injured and taken to army base hospital for medical treatment. As the boy got ready to leave for home after a period of almost two months, he said he didnt miss home as he was well looked after and visited by family members regularly. Suspense continues over government formation in J-K, BJP asserts importance

New Delhi, Jan 2 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party once again said on Friday that no stable government would be possible in Jammu and Kashmir without the party's participation, even as the suspense over government formation in the state continues. Two days ago, People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the largest party, had also met the Governor. After the meeting, Mehbooba Mufti appeared to lean towards the BJP as she invoked former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee's vision and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi "has a big responsibility" towards the state. In the five-phased recent state assembly polls, the PDP won 28 seats in the 87-member Jammu and Kashmir assembly; the BJP won 25, while the National Conference and the Congress won 15 and 12 seats respectively. The dip in temperatures is due to snowfall in the Himalayas and has adversely impacted the upper half of the country. The cold wave has also forced people to stay indoors. People in Srinagar city, who work outdoors, were seen sitting around bonfire to fight the chill on Thursday (January 01).
