FDI in railways and defence draws mixed reactions

New Delhi, Aug 07 (ANI): Expert and political leaders on Thursday said that central government's move to allow foreign direct investment (FDI) in railways and defence sectors would not give private sector much control, adding it was not fit for citizens of the country. The cabinet approved a plan to raise the amount of FDI allowed in its defence and railways industries, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to attract more foreign cash and revive the economy. The government is to increase the foreign investment limit in the defence industry to 49 percent from 26 percent. Defence expert, Commodore (retired) Uday Bhaskar, said with 49 percent, bigger companies won't get much control. Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati, said the BJP should hold a discussion on the matter. India summons Pak Deputy HC over delay in 26/11 Mumbai attack trial

New Delhi, July 25 (ANI): India, on Friday, has summoned Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner over delay in trial of Mumbai 26/11 attacks. While the Pakistan deputy high commissioner was summoned to the ministry of external affairs in India, the Indian deputy high commissioner went to the Pakistan foreign office in Islamabad and lodged a similar protest. Reactions pour in after ceasefire violation at JandK's RS Pura reported

New Delhi, July 20 (ANI): Pakistani troops again resorted to violating ceasefire by firing on an outpost along the international border in RS Pura sector of Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. The firing started at around 1:00 am in the night and lasted till morning 5:30 am. Reportedly, heavy firing took place at border villages including Gharna, Sai, Kaku De Kothey and Pindi villages. Due to landing of some mortar shells in the residential areas some animals died and some were left injured as well.
