Pepper Rasam Ingredients Tomato - 4 Tamarind puree - 1 cup Sambar/Rasam powder - 2 tsp Pepper - 2 tsp Cumin seeds - 2 tsp Salt to taste For Tempering Ghee - 2 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp A few Curry leaves Method: 1. Cook tomatoes in a huge pot and add salt to it. 2. Once they are half-cooked, add tamarind puree, pour some water and add a tsp of sambar/rasam powder. 3. Let it boil for a few minutes and then add some pound pepper and cumin seeds. Let it boil for a few more minutes. 4. For tempering, Add mustard to some ghee. Once they start splattering add curry leaves and pour this tempering into the rasam & mix it. 5. Turn off the stove, Pepper rasam is ready to serve. New Delhi, Dec 05 (ANI): The Indian authorities on Friday sent packaged drinking water to Maldives as it faces massive scarcity of drinking water. Huge packets of water bottles are being sent in five C17 and IL17 transport aircrafts of the Indian Air Force to Maldives' capital Male. Meanwhile, PRO of the Indian Air Force, Sandeep Mehta said that it is an international cricis. He added that Indian Navy is also pressed into service of carrying water for Maldives. Sweet & Sour Veg soup Ingredients Cabbage - 1 cup (finely chopped) Carrot - 1 cup (finely chopped) Green Bell peppers - 1/2 chopped Yellow Bell peppers - 1/2 chopped A few Spring onion chopped A few Celery chopped A few Garlic cloves chopped Green chilli - 2 Sugar - 2 tbsp Salt to taste Pepper - 1 tsp Corn flour - 1 tbsp Soy sauce - 2 tsp Water - 3 cups Olive oil - 1 tbsp Method: 1. In a Deep wide pan add olive oil, green chilli, garlic & saute it for a minute. 2. Add all the chopped vegetables one after the other Spring onion, Cabbage, Carrot, Celery, Green Bell pepper, Yellow Bell pepper & saute it for a few minutes. 3. Now add Salt, Pepper, Sugar & mix it. Add enough water to cover all the vegetables. You can add vegetable stock also. Let it boil for a few minutes. 4. Dilute a corn flour in a water, it acts as a thickening agent, so pour it in the soup and mix it. 5. Add Soy sauce, Spring onion stock & turn off the stove. 6. The whole some Sweet & Sour Veg soup is ready to serve. Contaminated Water Making Life Difficult for People of PoK

Muzaffarabad, PoK, December 02, 2014: Despite being endowed with abundant water resources, PoK is plagued by an acute contamination of its water bodies leading to water shortages and other health issues. With natural sources drying up or being declared unfit for human use, many in capital Muzaffarabad have had to negotiate treacherous terrain to fetch water from far off areas. Many depend on the local administration for drinking water. But residents allege that in the light of no response from government the problem manifests, year after year. With 86 percent of water being declared unfit for consumption, the problem is becoming grave by the day. Water borne diseases like dysentery, cholera and typhoid are common complaints among the local population. The Neelum Valley Project was intended to solve the problem of water scarcity in the Himalayan region, but much of the water harnessed here, has been diverted to the big cities of Pakistan. The erratic monsoons have led to a dip in the water table. The drainage from surrounding areas has polluted several lakes too. Locals say the water supply is infected by the sewer water. Dec 3, 2014
