London, Aug 10 (ANI): India's heritage sport of kabaddi - a traditional contact sport that mixes tag and wrestling, enthralled London during an exciting game played between the teams of Bollywood actor, Akshay Kumar's Khalsa Warriors and star rapper Honey Singh's Tigers in the second match of the Wave World Kabaddi League. Khalsa Warriors defeated Tigers by 79-57. Wave World Kabbadi League (WKL) is the first international Kabaddi league featuring eight teams which will play in USA, Canada, UAE, England and India. The first ever international Kabaddi league is an initiative to promote Kabaddi one of the grass root level sports of India. World Kabaddi League Commissioner, Pargat Singh, who is also a former Indian Hockey player, said Kabaddi is an exciting and easy game to understand. Aug 10, 2014

Indian men's hockey team returns home after winning silver at 2014 CWG

New Delhi, Aug 05 (ANI): Indian men's hockey team received a warm welcome on its arrival in New Delhi on Tuesday (August 05) after winning a silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Glasgow. The Indian team lost 0-4 to title holders and world champions Australia in the finals. Captain of men's hockey team, Sardar Singh said the team is fully motivated for the future matches. In the last edition of Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010, India had suffered 0-8 defeat at the hands of Australia. However, Indian women's hockey team that returned home on Monday, failed to bag any medal for the second consecutive year. Meanwhile, midfielder and captain of the women's team, Ritu Rani said despite performing well at the CWG, the team could not make the country proud. Aug 5, 2014
