President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurates national Agricultural exhibition

Nagpur, Feb 09 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday inaugurated the national Agricultural exhibition 'Krishi Vasant', organized by Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of Maharashtra at Central Institute of Cotton Research in Nagpur. Mukherjee said that such exhibitions promote the agricultural sector. Mukherjee is on two day visit in Maharashtra and will have stopovers in Mumbai, Nagpur and Gondia for a few occasions. Nagpur, Jan 29 (ANI): Maharashtra State Women Commission member and NCP member Asha Mirje on Wednesday apologized for her comment that women are also to be blamed for rapes. Talking to mediapersons, she clarified that she was only giving her opinion and advice to women. She said that she was of the view that women are always equal to men and that rapes are condemnable but the responsibility to be careful and alert also lies with women themselves. Mirje had asked why was the 23-year-old medical student, who was gang-raped on a moving bus in Delhi in December, 2012, out with her friend late at night.
