Dhaka, Feb 22 (ANI): Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee assured to find a solution to the Teesta water-sharing deal, one of the most contentious issues between India and Bangladesh. Banerjee's three-day visit to Bangladesh has drawn widespread attention since it was due to her intense opposition that former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, failed to ink the Teesta water-sharing treaty during his Dhaka trip in September 2011. New Delhi, Feb 21 (ANI): Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) chairperson Manish Sisodia in a review meeting had directed the DJB to submit a report on the state of the sewage system and contamination of potable water in the city to the government within 10 days. While commenting on the review meeting held, Delhi Government’s spokesperson Nagendra Sharma said that Sisodia had asked the engineers of Jal Board to prepare a report on the problems of water shortage and sewage system being faced at the various places of Delhi and to submit the report to the Delhi Government within 10 days. Dhaka, Feb 20 (ANI): The visit of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Bangladesh has raised hopes of resolution of Teesta water-sharing deal and other contentious issues. Mamata Banerjee arrived in Dhaka on Thursday on a maiden official visit at the invitation of Bangladesh's Foreign Minister, Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali. India released 111 Bangladeshi fishermen on Thursday ahead of her visit to Dhaka. The Teesta water-sharing agreement has been in talks since 2009.
