Agra's Kendriya Hindi Sansthan attracts students from the Northeast

Agra, Oct 10 (ANI): This group of 64 students from Mizoram has come to Agra to improve their Hindi at the Kendriya Hindi Sansthan. The institution is an autonomous apex organization, run by the Union Ministry of Human Resource development, and it works for the development of Hindi language in the country. Established in the year 1980, it helps students from across the country hone their skills in the language. Students from the northeastern states, where Hindi isn’t widely spoken, come to the institute every year to sharpen their language skills. The 3-week-long programme is aimed at those students and teachers who already know the language, but want to improve their command over it. The institute also provides food and accommodation to the students for free. After the course, the students can find employment opportunities in various sectors like banks, teaching and government offices. The teachers from the institute also visit regional branches to familiarize the students in non-Hindi speaking regions, with the language. Oct 10, 2013
