Nasscom launches third phase of startup initiative mission

Bangalore, July 01 (ANI): The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) invited applications from startups as it commenced the third phase of its 10,000 start-ups initiative across the country. The 10,000 startups initiative, which is a national database of startups and identifies the areas of their operations, is a one-stop platform for all fresh entrepreneurs. Addressing a news conference in Bangalore Senior Director, NASSCOM 10,000 Startups initiative, Rajat Tandon said in first two phases at least 529 people were impacted. The association had earlier sent a 30-member representative delegation of software products and solutions to the Silicon Valley in the US for providing a global platform for young entrepreneurs. California, Feb 20 (ANI): In a landmark deal that places the world's largest social network closer to the heart of mobile communications, Facebook will buy fast-growing mobile-messaging startup WhatsApp for $19 billion in cash and stock. The transaction involves $4 billion in cash, $12 billion in stock and $3 billion in restricted stock that vests over several years. The WhatsApp deal is worth more than Facebook raised in its own IPO and underscores the social network's determination to win the market for messaging.
