New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Political reactions flowed on Tuesday after BJP announced Kiran Bedi as its Chief Ministerial candidate for Delhi Assembly Polls. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that Bedi is a tough leader capable enough to govern the capital. BJP leader Nalin Kohli said that there is an infighting within AAP since Bedi has been declared the CM candidate. Congress leaders Abhishek Manu Singhvi and PC Chacko said that projecting Kiran Bedi will be a loss for BJP and added that they have realized the failure of BJP in Delhi so they want to project Bedi to face the blame. New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): BJPs chief ministerial candidate for Delhi, Kiran Bedi on Tuesday said that she accepts the challenge for a debate put forth by AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal. She said that the challenge is accepted but she will debate in assembly not on roads. Bedi said that Kejriwal has the habit of debating whereas she believed in delivering and that she has no time before elections for any such debate. Bedi further said that she had blocked Kejriwal from her Twitter account after he had called himself an anarchist more than a year ago. New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Former IPS Officer Kiran Bedi on Tuesday talked to mediapersons about her dreams for Delhi after being anointed as BJPs chief ministerial candidate yesterday. Taking a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bedi said that Delhi needed a strong and stable government and therefore cannot function under a learner's licence. Referring to AAP, she said that the opposition can work on that, but not the capital and that she is bringing 40 years of experience for the national capital. She also said that people of Delhi do not want free electricity as claimed by AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, but quality service and correct billing. BJP announces Kiran Bedi's name as chief ministerial candidate for Delhi polls

New Delhi, Jan 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced former IPS Officer and anti-graft activist Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate for Delhi assembly polls. The announcement was made by BJP Chief Amit Shah at party's headquarters. She will contest from the Krishna Nagar seat. The BJP also released the names of 61 other candidates who will contest the elections. Former student leader Nupur Sharma will contest against AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat. Senior leader Jagdish Mukhi will contest from the Janakpuri seat, while former Delhi BJP Chief Vijendra Gupta will contest from Rohini. Opposition flays BJP for induction of Kiran Bedi, BJP clarifies

New Delhi/ Noida, Jan 19 (ANI): Major political parties snubbed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday (January 19) after it inducted former IPS officer and social activist, Kiran Bedi, ahead of polls in Delhi. Bedi was one of the core members of social activist Anna Hazare's team and supported him throughout his fight against corruption and formulation of an Ombudsman Act. AAP leader Ashutosh said the decision to induct Bedi would backfire on BJP. Congress leader PC Chacko also said Bedi would prove to be a liability to BJP. BJP leaders Jagdish Mukhi and Harsh Vardhan have defended the move and said Bedi would infuse party workers. Polls in Delhi will be held on February 07 and results will be declared on February 10.
