New Delhi, Dec 03 (ANI): BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday said that Congress should not be bothered by discussion on Article 370 as India is an open democracy and there is always scope for discussions about pros and cons of any issue in an open democracy. He also questioned Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah on non-implementation of Right to Information and Food Security Bill in the state when it's functional in the rest of India. Bangladesh war crimes committee chief hopes trials will go on after elections

London, Nov 29 (ANI): Chairperson of Bangladesh War Crimes Fact Finding Committee, M. A. Hassan, has pinned his hopes on the tribunal and said that the perpetrators of the 1971 liberation war will be brought to books. In his book titled, 'Beyond Denial: The Evidence of Genocide, and its provenance', Hassan emphasised that the purpose is not for vengeance but for reconciliation, which cannot exist until justice is served and remorse is shown by the perpetrators. While talking to a reporter, Hassan said that he feared that the perpetrators might come to power and cancel the whole process of trials.A war crimes tribunal, which was set up in 2010, requires wrapping up investigations of all those who were accused, as the government aims to finish their trials before Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's five-year term ends. She took charge of office in early 2009. Commenting over the ongoing trials, Hassan said that there is no assurance as to whether the trials can be continued. Nov 29, 2013

Politicians slam memoirs of former lawmaker Pappu Yadav

New Delhi, Nov 27 (ANI): An autobiography “Drohkaal ka Pathik written by former Bihar MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has drawn flak from country’s leaders for making sensational claims that three other lawmakers of his party received money to join the then central ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2001. Yadav alleged that three leaders of his Indian Federal Democratic Party got money courtesy then finance minister, Yashwant Sinha, to join the BJP-led NDA. According to media reports, Sinha denied the allegations and refused to comment on them. In his book he also alleged that during the July 2008 trust vote, both the Congress and BJP had offered Rs. 40 crore each to lawmakers for their support. Meanwhile, senior JD-U leader K. C.
