SAI says it wants Terry Walsh to continue as hockey coach

New Delhi, Nov 24 (ANI): The Director General of Sports Authority of India said on Monday that they want Jiji Thomson to continue as the coach of Indian hockey team. Thomson said that the matter regarding Walsh was between him and Hockey India so they have to mutually decide what steps to take. He added that SAI wants Terry Walsh to continue but there are some issues which are not solvable and which is why other options need to be considered. Nov 24, 2014

Indian Hockey coach Terry Walsh resigns

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): India's chief Hockey coach Terry Walsh quit from his position after his contractual talks with Hockey India (HI) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) broke down. But a fresh proposal is still being worked out for the Australian's consideration. Walsh, whose contract was to come to an end on Wednesday (November 19), had already submitted his resignation last month after his demands for a greater say in team decisions and hand-picked support staff were turned down by HI and SAI. However, a fresh proposal will be sent to him in the next couple of days for his consideration, leaving the door still open for his return to India. PM Modi appreciates leading citizens for participating in 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'

New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded Bollywood mega star Amitabh Bachchan among others for participating in his pet project 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. Modi took to twitter to appreciate the efforts of leading citizens for giving a boss to the Clean India Campaign. He twitted saying, "Who won't get inspired when @SrBachchan himself wields the broom and joins Swachh Bharat Mission! Very significant effort." The prime minister also retweeted Bachchan's tweets. Prime Minister Modi also lauded 35-year-old Laila Shah who wielded broom in the streets of violence-hit Trilokpuri area in Delhi.
