South Dinajpur, Oct 11 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) detained nine Bangladeshi nationals on Saturday near the Indo-Bangladesh international border in a bid to check infiltration. BSF has tightened security in areas bordering Bangladesh in wake of bomb blast in Burdwan district in West Bengal. Two women have been arrested in connection with the explosion that left two suspected militants dead on Sunday. Police is probing the possible involvement of militant outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami in the blast. BSF Commandant Sangram Bisal said that due to close vigilance after the blast in Burdwan they arrested the Bangladeshi nationals who were crossing the hills. Oct 11, 2014

India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that the regional party Trinamool Congress, which rules West Bengal, has turned the state into a safe haven for militants and accused chief minister Mamata Banerjee of protecting the militants. Addressing media persons, TMC General Secretary Mukul Roy said the possibility of the BJP and CPI (M) leaders committing such crimes to disturb the peaceful situation in Bengal cannot be ruled out. Two suspected Pakistan-based militants sent to police custody in New Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 3 (ANI): Authorities produced two suspected operatives of Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) before the court in New Delhi and were remanded to police custody till August 12. Delhi police had arrested suspected LeT operatives Abdul Subhan and his aide Asahbuddin on July 20 for their alleged role in conspiring terror attacks in Delhi and other areas. They were produced before the court after their remand expired and Delhi police sought the extension of their custody.
