Protesters dump raw sardines outside Greek parliament in protest against fishy austerity measures

Greek protesters dumped several boxes of raw sardines outside the Greek parliament. Members of a communist-backed labour union threw the crates at police and lawmakers. The fishy protest was meant to be a sign against austerity measures in a fisheries bill. The austerity measures were tacked to a bill protecting living marine resources. Lawmakers approved the amendments demanded by international lenders. Jun 10, 2017
