Yashodhara Raje Scindia underscores skill development for youth at Global Investors Summit

Indore, Oct 09 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Commerce and Industry Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said at the Global Investors Summit that she will take steps for skill development of the youths and unemployed of the state so that they become self reliant. During a news conference at the Global Investors Summit, the minister said the regional government will ensure skill availability within the state. Barely weeks after Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, launched his 'Make in India' initiative, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, inaugurated a three-day Global Investors Summit on Wednesday, inviting business leaders from across the world to invest in the state. Scindia added that enhancing employment is one of the primary objectives of her government. She said she will also urge corporate houses to adopt industrial training institutes so that they can directly hire talent from there. Day one of the summit was dedicated to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). Scindia said the MSME sector demands special attention from the federal government. Oct 9, 2014

Ahmedabad, Oct 08 (ANI): As a part of recently launched 'Clean India Mission', railway authorities in Gujarat introduced hi-tech plastic bottle crushers where the plastic can be recycled and used again. In a bid to keep railway stations clean and recycle used plastic bottles, railway authorities in Ahmedabad installed the bottle crusher machine at a station. A ward assistant of Western Railways, Atul Tripathi, said this was the first time in India that such an initiative was undertaken. If proven a success, it would be further taken to other cities. Skill development programmes help to generate employment for Kashmiri youth

Kathua, Oct 7 (ANI): Unemployed Kashmiri youth are being imparted with various technical trainings in a bid to explore their livelihood opportunities. 12 skill development programmes are running with as many as 100 unemployed youths being part of it. Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency, Zaffar Abbaz said that training to youths is being given by professionals in technical courses like welding, electronics, cutting tailoring, fashion designing and on computers, for a period of six months to one year. These training programmes are of free of cost and not just boys but even girls' participation was seen in large numbers. The youths who had completed six months training were also given multi-purpose tool kits and even a diploma. They can also start their own business and can also get financial aid from financial institutes. Oct 7, 2014

Dialogue held in the Capital to explore opportunities for youth from North and Northeast region

New Delhi, Oct 06 (ANI): In a bid to include the youth in the policy making process with focus on exchanging opportunities between North and Northeast India, an interactive policy making competition and discussion programme was recently held at the Indian Habitat Center in New Delhi. Titled as "YOUth Decide: Exchanging opportunities in North India and North East India: Education-Employment-Entertainment', the youth dialogue programme was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce with support from the Home Ministry, University express ,and several northeast organizations. The event witnessed the participation of northeast and north Indian students from colleges and youth organizations from different parts of the National Capital Region (NCR).
