Delhi LG appeals residents to come out and participate in 'Clean India Mission'

New Delhi, Sep 30 (ANI): As Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India Mission' is to commence from October 02, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung appealed all the residents of the national capital to come out and participate in the mission. Jung said that clean India was a vision of Mahatma Gandhi and the government is trying to make it come true. He said that just government's efforts are not enough and said that all should come out to support the drive. He also said that the mission aims to clean India by 2019 and if all participate in this, people will soon realize the beauty they talk of in foreign country come true in India. Sep 30, 2014

Hindu groups protest against 'Aalishan Pakistan' exhibition even as Abdul Basit calls it positive fo

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): A clutch of right-wing Hindu groups protested against a Pakistani lifestyle exhibition 'Aalishan Pakistan' on Thursday demanding its cancellation on the grounds that such events cannot go hand-in-hand with Islamabad's support to militant activities in India. Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena had written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Police Commissioner to call off the four-day event. Police detained the protesters as they shouted slogans outside the exhibition venue. President of Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena, Jai Bhagwan Goyal, said that one-sided friendship should end. AAP delegation meets LG over horse trading by BJP, request to review letter to President

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): A delegation of AAP leaders on Wednesday met the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Najeeb Jung over the issue of horse-trading by BJP caught on camera. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that in a previous meeting with the LG, he had asked them to conduct a sting on the BJP leaders who try to horse-trade AAP MLAs, which AAP produced this time to the LG. Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena threatens to oppose Pakistani lifestyle exhibition in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 09 (ANI): Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena leader Jai Bhagwan on Tuesday announced to oppose Pakistani lifestyle exhibition in New Delhi. Apart from Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena, other Hindu groups such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi to call off the event named 'Alishan Pakistan'. The four-day event will take place from September 11-14 with over 150 exhibitors displaying their products at Pragati Maidan. New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): Addressing a press conference in New Delhi AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that AAP is not trying to form government in Delhi but wants fresh elections. He slammed Lt Governor Najeeb Jung of favouring BJP. Kejriwal said that AAP will send a copy of the sting CD to President Pranab Mukherjee and appeal to him not to heed to Jung's advice. AAP chief threatened to take to the streets to prevent the BJP from forming a government in Delhi. SC adjourns hearing on govt formation in Delhi till Oct 10

New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred hearing on AAP petition seeking to dissolve Delhi Assembly till October 10. The central government told the Supreme Court that the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi had written to the President saying that the BJP should be allowed to form the state government and sought four more weeks over the formation of the next government. In a major blow to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal, the Apex Court turned down to consider AAP sting that BJP was involved in horse trading. The top court will take up on October 10 AAP's affidavit on 'sting' operation showing a BJP leader allegedly offering its MLA money to defect. Meanwhile, reacting over this Kejriwal said that AAP has stated that they are not interested in forming the government but will do everything in their power to stop the BJP.He also accused LG Najeeb Jung of batting for the BJP.
