Srinagar/ Jammu, Sep 07 (ANI): The worst flooding in Jammu and Kashmir, in the last 60 years, wreaked havoc in Srinagar city on Sunday as residents blamed the state government for not doing much, especially for tourists. Although heavy rains stopped on Saturday afternoon, flood waters rose sharply overnight in Srinagar, a city of 900,000, catching many people living in low-lying areas unawares. About 22 air force helicopters and four aircraft were deployed to evacuate stranded people and to deliver relief. About 120 army units and eight teams of police reservists, equipped with boats and life jackets, were in action. Bodies of at least 20 drowned people recovered from Karachi beach

Karachi, Aug 01 (ANI): Bodies of at least 20 people, who had drowned while enjoying Eid al-Fitr, the festival marking the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, were recovered from two separate beaches in Pakistan's port city Karachi. Navy helicopters were brought in to assist in the rescue operation but had to be suspended at night when darkness set in. Twelve bodies were recovered from Clifton Beach before the rescue operation was suspended on Wednesday, whereas six bodies were recovered when the operation was re-started the next day.
