LOS ANGELES With no zombies in sight, the highly anticipated 5th season of ‘The Walking Dead’ held its premiere at Universal City Walk. Stars of the show attending the premiere included Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Steven Yeun & Melissa McBride. The popular show premieres on October 12th. Designer Michael Kors held a celebration for the launch of Claiborne Swanson Frank's ‘Young Hollywood’ portrait book and some of its subjects were on hand. Kiernan Shipka wowed in a floral-print mini dress while Hailee Steinfeld turned heads in a white lace, Michael Kors’ dress. Not to be out done, Emmy Rossum had the sultry vixen look down with the help of a plunging chiffon frock & tiered ruffle skirt. Also attending the event, Julianne Hough, Zoe Kravitz, Alison Brie & Aubrey Plaza. LONDON ‘Dracula Untold’, a new take on an old tale held its London movie premiere. Dracula himself, Luke Evans was on hand along with co-stars Sarah Gadon and Charles Dance. Also in London, Lindsay Lohan arrived for the opening of her new play, ‘Speed The Plow’, an anti-Hollywood satire. A subject Lindsay may know little something about. PARIS Selena Gomez wore a shiny-black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline as she came out for what is considered THE party of the season for the launch of CR Fashion Book’s fifth issue, which concluded Paris Fashion Week. Not to be undone in the ample department, Kim Kardashian stunned in a Givenchy pantsuit. Also sending flashbulbs popping were Paris Hilton, Emma Miller and Kendall Jenner. LOS ANGELES The comedy-drama, ‘Men, Women & Children’ held its Los Angeles premiere with stars Adam Sandler & Jennifer Garner on hand for the screening. Co-stars Dennis Haysbert, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dean Norris and Kaitlyn Dever also attended. After the premiere, the stars took time out to sign autographs for a few lucky fans. NEW YORK 3,000 miles away, the documentary, ‘Nas: Time Is Illmatic’ held its New York premiere. Nas made an appearance at the screening along with Busta Rhymes, LaLa Anthony & Treach. ‘Gone Girl’ star Ben Affleck stopped by CBS but first gave a young fan a thrill by snapping a pic with the future Batman and then took time out to sign autographs before leaving. Gujarat Students draw Mahatma Gandhi on their arms to pay tribute to iconic leader

Rajkot, Oct 02 (ANI): Thousand school girls in Gujarat paid tribute to independence leader and peace icon Mahatma Gandhi by drawing his tattoo on their arms and setting a new record of completing it in eight seconds. Students of Kadvibai Virani School in Rajkot district from class 7 to 12 took part in the tattoo making competition as part of Gandhi's birth anniversary celebrations. The record is likely to find a place in Limca Book of Records. She also said through this record the students got to know the life and messages of Mahatma Gandhi. A member of the British Council was also present at event and was thrilled to see how fantastic the girls were. India observes October 02 not only as Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary but also as International Day of Non-Violence, the ideal that Gandhi fought for throughout his life. Oct 2, 2014

Manipuri youth makes it to the Guinness Book of World Record

Imphal, Oct 02 (ANI): Twenty-six-year old weightlifter Maibam Itomba Meitei is on cloud nine these days. He recently entered the Guinness Book of World Records after completing the most number of consecutive Pinky pull ups. A resident of Naoremthong Samusang in Imphal West District, Itomba made his first attempt at achieving the record in 2012. During his second attempt in March this year at the SAI NERC complex, he managed to do 16 pull ups in 30 seconds using two fingers, breaking the previous world record of 16 pull ups in a minute by an American weight lifter. He received official confirmation in July. Itomba currently runs an iron and steel furniture work shop to earn a livelihood. The young weightlifter has received several state and national awards. He had trained intensively for the world record and hopes to continue achieving more such feats. Oct 2, 2014

At the launch were present celebs such as Pankaj Kapur, Tabu, Irrfan Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
