Narcotics officials seize heroin worth over 0.6 billion in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 14 (ANI): New Delhi's Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized a large cache of fine quality heroin worth over Rupees 0.6 billion and arrested an Afghan national along with two Indians for allegedly smuggling the drugs. The Afghan national along with two Indians have been arrested for allegedly smuggling in 31 kilograms of fine quality heroin concealed in raisin boxes which was to be sold in a famous dry fruits market in Delhi. Officials said a tip-off led sleuths of the Delhi zone of the NCB to a cold storage in Kundli in Haryana's Sonepat district. Officials said the raisins consignment, imported from Afghanistan, was destined to be delivered in the famous 'Khari Baoli' dry fruits market in Chandni Chowk area of New Delhi and the high quality heroin, sourced from the same country, was being sent under cover. Tokyo, Sep 09 (ANI): An agricultural plantation project in Hokkaido, founded by JFE Engineering Corporation, has two big greenhouses, covering a total area of 1.5 hectares. In addition to Mesclun greens and tomatoes, they grow more varieties of vegetables and fruits. The greenhouses, which are totally controlled by advanced cultivation control system, use the "Gas engine tri-generation system". It is a newly invented technology by JFE Engineering Corporation. The engine generates electricity, heat and CO2 from natural gas. Exhaust gas is filtered and pure CO2 is made and sent to houses though pipes and ejected by blast machine. The machine also blows warm air. Hot water is stocked in tanks and sent though pipes to heat up plant as needed. Sep 9, 2014

Imphal, Sep 08 (ANI): At his tiny house located in Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai in Imphal, the 61-year-old Jina Khumujam is busy preparing herbal soap. She took up soap making in 2004. The variety of soaps under the brand name of Ma-ngal are being produced with the extracts of locally available fruits like Lemon, Xylosma, Aloe-Vera, Citrus latipes and Cucumber. Jina's soap brand is a symbol of women empowerment and enlightenment. Jina also has the expertise in recycling waste materials into productive and income generating items apart from making soaps. She wishes to open up a show room for her products and a training centre. Jina's soap making farm has been a source of earning for some other destitute poor women, like widows and those living with HIV/AIDS. They come to her house and together make soaps, and handicraft. Dry fruit Saffron rice Ingredients Cooked Raw Rice - 1 cup Chopped Cashew nuts Chopped Dates Chopped Almond Raisins Sugar - 3 tbsp Cardamom pods Ghee Saffron in milk Method: 1. Heat some ghee in a pan and roast the chopped almonds and cashews. Once they start turning brown, add raisins and dates. Roast them and then transfer the mixture into a bowl. 2. In the same pan, add some ghee & cooked raw rice. Toss them over low flame. 3. Then, add saffron milk, cardamom powder, dry fruits - nut mixture and sugar to it. Mix well. 4. Check for sweetness and then turn off the stove. Serve hot or at room temperature.
