Dozens gather outside Downing Street to call on DRC President Joseph Kabila to step down

Dozens of protesters gathered in London to call on Kabila to step down, after mass protests in the Democratic Republic of Congo turned deadly on 19 September. At least 17 people were killed after huge protests in the DRC capital Kinshasa. Kabila is due to step down from the presidency on 19 December, but it is widely thought he intends to remain in power past this deadline. Sep 20, 2016

Ramzan Kadyrov maintains Chechen presidency with 98% of vote

Russias Republic of Chechnya voted overwhelmingly in favour of regional president Ramzan Kadyrov. The Chechen leader won 98 percent of the vote in elections that did not meet international standards. Labour leadership: Owen Smith questions Jeremy Corbyn over Momentum

During the final Labour leadership hustings of the campaign, challenger Owen Smith questions Jeremy Corbyn over the Labour group Momentum and plans to deselect Labour MPs that were not Corbyn supporters.
