New Delhi/ Nagpur/ Trivandrum, Apr 10 (ANI): Elections to the Lok Sabha moved into high gear as voters began exercising their franchise on Thursday in 91 constituencies in the third phase of polling in 11 States and 3 Union Territories amidst tight security. Congress candidate from New Delhi constituency Ajay Maken cast his vote and said that he was confident that the Congress party would win all the seven seats from Delhi. BJP candidate from Nagpur, Nitin Gadkari also casts his vote, says BJP will win the elections this time. AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that he hoped that people voted against corruption, against price rise. Shashi Tharoor slams allegations of bribing pastors for votes

Thiruvananthapuram, April 8 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, refuted allegations of meeting pastors and bribing them to garner Christian votes, levelled by BJP and LDF. The BJP and Left Democratic Front (LDF) alleged that Tharoor had violated the model code of conduct. Reportedly, the BJP filed a complaint with Election Commission in Kerala based on recordings aired on regional television channel, which showed Tharoor speaking to missionary pastors during campaigning and offering money in lieu of votes. However, Tharoor called the complaint baseless and considered it an act of revenge. Meanwhile, the LDF has accused the Congress party leader of meeting pastors of a particular Christian denomination at his home. Maoists blast cell phone tower in Gaya

Gaya, March 28 (ANI): Maoists blasted a cell phone tower in Gaya city of Bihar while chanting slogans of boycotting the upcoming general elections. According to police, more than sixty Maoists arrived in Dumaria village in Gaya to destroy the tower, ahead of Narendra Modi’s visit in the district. Police station incharge of Dumaria village, Shashi Shekhar Chauhan, said that the Maoists were heard chanting slogans of boycotting the upcoming general elections in the country. An eyewitness to the event and the guard of the destroyed tower, Jayaprakash Narayan, said that he came to know about the event when he heard a loud sound while he was sleeping in a house near the tower. New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar Tharoor’s body has been cremated at Lodhi road crematorium on Saturday. Pushkar’s body was carried into the crematorium by her husband Shashi Tharoor and her son from her previous marriage Shiv Menon. Sunanda Pushkar was found dead late Friday in a suit at Leela Hotel in Delhi.
