Muzaffarabad/ Geneva, Nov 03: October 22, 1947 - the day when Pakistani Pashtun tribes invaded the Kashmir Valley and created mayhem, is remembered as "Black Day". Kashmiris across the world use the day to protest the invasion of their homeland by Pakistan. In Muzzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, a large number of nationalists gathered to raise their voices against illegal occupation by recalling the brutality of Pakistani troops. Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan were a part of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, which was captured by the Pakistani Army disguised as tribesmen. At the Kishan-Ganga Bridge in Kotli, Kashmiri protesters lit candles as a tribute to those killed during the tribal invasion of 1947. They shouted slogans against Pakistan for illegally occupying their territory. Pakistan claims to champion the cause of Kashmiris, but ignores their plight in so-called Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Nov 3, 2014

Bollywood comes together for Kashmir Flood Victims

New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): From Aamir Khan to Farhan Akhtar, Anupam Kher to Vivek Oberoi along with several other film and music personalities joined hands for a special concert 'Hum Hain Umeed-e-Kashmir' to raise funds for the flood victims of Kashmir and Assam in New Delhi. The concert was an initiative of the entertainment industry led by the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA), the Film and Television Producers Guild and Zee Media. Voicing their concerns over the issue, stars urged people to make their contribution in whatever way possible. Also spotted on the occasion were stars like Aditi Rao Hydari, Neha Dhupia, Daler Mehandi, Shaan and Ravi Kishan among others who performed live to raise funds. Oct 19, 2014

Ajit Singh meets injured protesters in hospital, asks govt to push up CC Singh memorial issue

New Delhi/ Ghaziabad, Sep 19 (ANI): RLD Chief Ajit Singh on Friday reached the hospital in Ghaziabad where his supporters who got injured during a protest yesterday are admitted. Singh visited to meet the injured supporters of the party. Earlier on Thursday, about 200 Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Bharatiya Kishan Union workers blocked traffic on National Highway-58 and tried to disrupt the water supply from Muradnagar to Sonia Vihar in Delhi. Singh said that it should be seen that the issue is pushed forward by the government. Meanwhile, Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that any government building cannot be turned into memorial as per the Supreme Court's order.
