New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Slamming the Madhya Pradesh government for Ratangarh temple stampede, JD (U) on Monday said that bad governance, corruption in police responsible for the tragedy. Phailin will weaken gradually and not immediately as it is a severe cyclone: MeT

Bhubaneswar, Oct 13 (ANI): Nearly eleven hours after hitting the coasts of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh with a wind speed of about 200 kilometers per hour, Cyclone Phailin is reported to have calmed down on Sunday morning. Local media is reporting damage to property and to substantial flooding in coastal districts of Odisha and on National Highway Five. Several teams of the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy are on standby across the region to begin massive relief and rescue operations. Director of MeT Department in Odisha Sharad Sahu said that gradually the Cyclone is losing its intensity but it is still classified as a severe cyclone.

Bhubaneswar, Oct 12 (ANI): As Cyclonic storm Phailin, which is touching wind speeds of 210 to 220 kilometer an hour, is expected to hit the coast of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, Director of Bhubaneswar’s MeT Department Sharad Sahu on cyclone Phailin briefed about the current situation of cyclone Phailin. Phailin, which has been put in the category of Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (VSCS), is expected to touch 230 kilometer per hour, when it hits the two states.
