Police arrest three suspected IM militants from Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jan 09 (ANI): Police arrested three suspected militants from Karnataka with a large cache of explosives and bomb making equipments, said a senior officer. Police commissioner of Bengaluru, MN Reddy said the security agencies conducted raids in Bengaluru as well as Bhatkal town to nab the alleged Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives on the basis of intelligence input. Reddy ruled out any connection yet between these arrests and the December 28 church street blast in the city, which killed one woman and wounded one man. Police seized bomb making equipments and electronic devices from the suspects. The Indian Mujahideen has carried out dozens of bombings in recent years and poses the most serious threat so far from a home grown group in Hindu majority India. Jan 9, 2015

Bengaluru Blast: Experts say agencies should be careful in naming accused

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Security and Defence experts on Monday reacted to Bengaluru blast that took place last night killing one and injuring at least 3. Defence Expert Commodore (Retd) Ranjit B Rai said that the minorities have always been under suspicionwhenever any such incident takes place but added that the investigation agencies should be careful in disclosing the name of the accused. Security Expert Qamar Agha said that it might be an act executed by the Indian Mujahideen because they have always targeted business hubs and metro cities. Burdwan blast accused Shanhnoor Alam sent to 14 days judicial custody

Guwahati, Dec 20 (ANI): A city court on Saturday remanded Burdwan blast accused Shahnoor Alam to 14 days judicial custody in Guwahati. He was allegedly the inancial brain of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) terror group and was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) with the help of central security agencies from Nalbari district of Assam on December 6. NIA had last month arrested his wife but Alam had been on the run since the blast. The blast took place at a house in Burdwan area, killing two JMB militants and injuring another. Dec 20, 2014
