New Delhi, June 17 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday reacted over Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's remark in which he attributed the rising inflation to the hoarding of food stocks. He said that Centre is committed to ease supply side bottlenecks and has also asked states to take firm measures against hoarders to check speculation. 47 day fish trawling ban commences in Kerala coast

Kochi, June 15 (ANI): Kerala fisherman will have to temporarily put their fishing nets to rest, as the annual 47 days ban on fishing using motorised trawlers in Kerala began at midnight on Saturday. Most of the heavy motorised deep sea fish trawlers have come back and will now be anchored at their respective harbours during the 47-day long ban period that will be on till July 31. New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): Earth Sciences Minister Jitendra Singh said that the monsoon is expected to bring below-average rainfall this year, potentially lowering grain yields, pushing up food prices and hurting the economy. Singh expects precipitation between June and September to be between 90 and 96 percent of the long-term average.
