New Delhi, March 02 (ANI): In a rare gesture, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday had lunch at the Parliament canteen. Reportedly, PM Modi made a surprise visit to Room number 70 on the first floor of the Parliament building, from where the canteen operates. The canteen staff was surprised by Modi’s sudden arrival but soon regained composure and guided him to a table and took his order. According to media reports, PM ordered a Veg Thali which consisted of sarson ka saag, aloo subji, rajma, rice, roti and curd and paid Rs 29 for his lunch. After having the lunch, PM Modi wrote in the canteen's visitor book "ann data Sukhi Bhava". Modi was in company of three MPs at the table. Mar 2, 2015

Chennai, March 02 (ANI): Taking speedcubing to a new level, an Indian youth entered the Guinness Book of world records by solving five Rubik’s cubes single-handedly in just over a minute. Solving five Rubik’s cube in 1.23.934 minutes, Bhargav Narasimhan of Chennai city, broke the existing record of 1.52 minutes held by Tumu Tabuchi of Japan. Since its inception in 1980s Rubik Cube has intrigued children and elders alike. The fascination with the red-blue-green-yellow-white-orange angular plastic cube is such that there is a global community of speedcubers today. Bharghav says he was happy he did it for the nation. Writers association in Chennai condemns attack on writer

Chennai, March 01 (ANI): A writers’ association in Tamil Nadu staged a protest, condemning an attack on writer Puliyur Murugesan by a particular community. Murugesan was attacked on Thursday by members of a particular community in the wake of his book ‘I am also known as Balachandran’. As per reports, a chapter in the book narrated the illicit affair between a man and his daughter-in-law in a family belonging to the community, which drew ire. Meanwhile, Murugesan, who is recovering in a hospital, said that he did not intend to hurt anyone with his writing and was willing to apologise. Murugesan’s wife was also attacked and both have been given police protection. The protesters urged the government to take action against the miscreants and safeguard writer’s freedom of expression in the state.
