Goa, Jan 3 (ANI): Popular Disc Jockeys (DJs) from Russia and Sweden said that music is developing in India as people thronged a musical festival in western Goa province. Swedish DJ, Albin Myers, and Hard Rock Sofa, a popular Russian duet performed at a music festival. The young crowd danced and cheered to the beats at Candolim Beach in the province. Indian DJ-VJ Nikhil Chinapa, who is the director of this five-day music festival, said that the festival aimed to "restore the spirit of community" and "passion for music" that has been so elusive lately owing to the sudden explosion of electronic music. The main stage for the festival has been designed like a submarine, with a backdrop of marine life. The festival will showcase top acts from artists across the globe. Jan 3, 2014

Srinagar, Jan 3 (ANI): The Sufi music orchestra "Jasne Khizaan" in India's northern Jammu and Kashmir revived an age- old tradition in the valley as the magic and mysticism of Sufism mesmerizes the audience. Music lovers lauded the performance by the group of well-known artists of the state. During the show, dozens of orchestra experts and other musicians presented an attractive joint performance called "SAZINA" in local language. Sufi tradition is deep-rooted in Kashmir. Shrines dotted at various places across the valley have stood as beacons of peace and humanism. Siliguri, Jan 3 (ANI): A vast variety of exquisite, traditional artifacts by more than 400 artisans from across India's eastern West Bengal state attracts a steady stream of visitors to the ongoing handicraft fair. The month-long exhibition organised by the state government aims at providing a platform to small-scale artisans where they can showcase their products and provide a boost to their business which is not exposed to bigger markets. The artisans proudly displayed the fruits of their labour. A wide array of ethnic products including hand embroidered products, Tibetan art products, wooden items and a wide array clay and mud items were displayed at various stalls. The fair offers a unique opportunity to the people of the state to have direct interaction with the artisans and weavers from all over the country and purchase goods without any middle men.
