French police use tear gas and water cannon to end protest at Calais Jungle camp

Police and migrants have clashed on Saturday (1 October) during protests at the Calais migrant camp. Two hundred migrants and around 50 protesters assembled to march against living conditions in the “Jungle” camp.Police later attempted to push the protesters back, but were attacked with rocks.French President Francois Hollande has vowed to have the “Jungle” closed by the end of the year.
