Power of democracy prevails over gun: Modi

Gumla, March 27 (ANI): Acknowledging the crowd at his rally, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Thursday said that it showed that the power of democracy still prevails over the gun. Recalling Mahatma Gandhi, Modi appealed to the Maoists to drop their weapons and shun the path of violence, saying the country needs development more than violence and bloodshed. He said that Jharkhand was given by former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and added that many Congress governments have come and gone, but they have never acknowledged the presence of tribals in the country.
