New Delhi, 28 Oct (ANI): Next time, think twice before munching on popcorn while watching your favorite movie in the theatre - as this 'light food' can actually make you pile on the pounds. These cinema snacks contain "shocking" levels of calories and fat. According to a research, a typical tub of sweet popcorn contains around 1,260 calories and 79.6g of fat much more than the daily maximum intake suggested for people. A portion of nachos provides 3.1g of salt which is more than half of an adult's daily allowance, plus 1,030 calories and 56.5g of fat. Even the Cola bought at the cinema has up to 320 calories per container.So for the next tim e, do think about the calorie and fat count before you enjoy your light snacks meal. Oct 28, 2014

Govt should have guts to take up the case of boxer Sarita Devi at highest level: Congress

New Delhi, Oct 22 (ANI): Congress leader Ajay Maken on Wednesday said that the Indian boxing federation and the sports ministry should have the guts to take the case of boxer Sarita Devi at the highest level. He added that the entire country should stand up with the Boxer and her coach. AIBA on Wednesday provisionally suspended Boxer Laishram Sarita Devi for refusing to accept the bronze medal at the Asian Games podium ceremony. Her coach GS Sandhu, Blas Iglesias Fernandez and Sagar Mal Dhayal as well as Indian chef-de-mission AJ Sumariwalla were also suspended by the AIBA. AIBA said that it will not allow any of them to participate at all levels of various competitions, events and meetings until further notice. Boxer Sarita Devi, while protesting against a controversial verdict, had refused to wear the bronze medal on the podium during the ceremony for the 57-60 kg category. Congress draws road map for 2015 party elections

New Delhi, Oct 20 (ANI): The Congress party on Monday held an organizational level meeting to draw the road map for 2015 party elections slated to take place in May. The meeting was called a day after the party witnessed major defeat in assembly polls of Maharashtra and Haryana, where the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made big gains. General Secretary of Congress party, Janardan Dwivedi told mediapersons that the party is to hold elections at all levels, right from primary unit block committees for the process of electing the party president next year.
