Mandi, June 14 (ANI): Search operation to recover the bodies of students from Hyderabad who were washed away in Beas river is still underway. Civil authorities have given directions to stop water flow from Laarji Dam and forces are concentrating on a patch of a few kilometers. The SSB Commandant Shiv Ram said that forces have recovered a jacket and wallet of student along with some identity cards. Mandi, June 14 (ANI): As the massive search for missing students intensified in Himachal Pradesh, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to trace the bodies. 24 engineering students of a private engineering college of Hyderabad were swept away when the waters of river Beas suddenly spiked dangerously high following a release from the reservoir of 126 MW Larji hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh on June 08. An official of NDRF, Vairabha Nathan, said although the rescue teams are using UAV to locate the bodies, they are facing problems in GPS connectivity in the rugged topographical conditions. Seventh body recovered from Beas river, search still on

Mandi, June 12 (ANI): Rescuers recovered a seventh body from the River Beas on Thursday. A search is still on to find the remaining 17 bodies from the river which had swept away 24 college students and a tour operator earlier this week. Meanwhile, a team of Navy officials visited the place and is likely to assist in rescue operations. More divers with latest equipments are also expected to join the search operations. Mandi, June 11 (ANI): Family members of the students from Hyderabad swept away by gushing waters of river Beas in Himachal Pradesh have accused local administration of being insensitive; lacking a system in place after rescue officials recovered five bodies from the river. Rescuers had found five bodies till Tuesday and officials said prospects of finding the rest alive were bleak. The students were from a private engineering college in Hyderabad and had gone missing on June 08 after stopping to take photographs. The family members, who had arrived, claimed the bodies and with the help of the leaders from Andhra Pradesh flew them back.
