Fresh snowfall turns Kashmir into picturesque landscape

Srinagar, Feb 06 (ANI): The fresh spell of snowfall in Kashmir has brought cheers to tourists and residents alike as the Valley is turned into a picturesque landscape. Tourists came out in large numbers to rejoice the weather and take boat rides in the world famous Dal Lake. The temperature has plummeted to zero and minus levels in several regions of the state. Locals, hoteliers and businessmen are happy as fresh snowfall is likely to boost tourism in the region. During winters, holidaying crowd from the plains of India and other parts of the country prefer to throng northern states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir to experience snowfall. New Delhi/ Lucknow, Feb 02 (ANI): Muslim clerics as well as Political leaders on Monday react on BJP leader Sadhvi Prachi's controversial remark. Prachi has said that she did nothing wrong in asking Hindu women to give birth to 4 kids and that she is not asking for 35-40 puppies. All India Imam Organization Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said that this is condemnable and that the time is not to do all this but to get together and fight terrorism. Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahali said that the prime minister should take action on the same. Congress leader PC Chacko said that this is objectionable in secular nation like India. AAP said that this signifies BJP and that such statements take the political system in India to the lowest levels. New Delhi, Feb 02 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday react as BJP is likely to release its vision document for assembly elections in Delhi. The vision document is being released instead of a poll manifesto by the party for the upcoming polls. BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao said that Delhi being the national capital needs involvement from the centre for its development and that the vision document will take the city to new levels. People in Kashmir eat spicy traditional cuisine 'Harissa' to fight cold

Srinagar, Jan 31 (ANI): Kashmiris are flocking restaurants to relish a special mutton dish which helps them fight biting cold. The traditional mouth-watering cuisine Harissa is a much-sought after dish in the state during winters. Harissa is prepared with mutton meat, rice, milk and a lot of spices. The mixture is cooked for long on fire, stirred continuously to make it mushy and smooth. When served, hot oil is poured on top of it and it is served with traditional Kashmiri naan (bread). A customer Farooq Ahmed said that Harissa is good for health. The more than 100-year-old dish is a regular in breakfast menu in almost every household when temperatures dip to sub-zero levels during winters. The dish is also popular among visiting tourists as it is not available elsewhere in India. Reyaz Ahmed, who works as a cook in a local restaurant, said the demand for Harissa picks up during winters. Jan 31, 2015
