Kanpur, Sep 06 (ANI): A 20-year-old mechanical engineering student at Government Polytechnic College in Kanpur committed suicide in his hostel room after allegedly being ragged and beaten up by his seniors. The student was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his hostel room by his roommate. The deceased student's brother, Pradeep Vishwakarma said that this certainly is a case of ragging and blamed the college authorities for the same. Meanwhile, a co-student said that the deceased was beaten by the senior and that he didn't attend the class for two days in their fear. The police and forensic team have started investigation into the case. An FIR has been filed against two senior students- Karan and Vijay- as well as other unidentified students after a complaint was filed by the brother of the deceased.
