US call for greenfield investments in India

New Delhi, Sept 18 (ANI): In a bid to end the blockage of global trade, US top official called for green field investments in India through the 'Select USA' programme that will specifically concentrate on assisting new and expanding existing businesses. Speaking to reporters at CII Headquarters in New Delhi on Thursday Executive Director, Select USA, Vinai Thummalapally, invited competitive investors from India to USA. The director is on a seven-day visit to India and will be travelling across five cities – Delhi, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Mumbai and Bangalore – to boost trade investment in the US. Counsellor for Commercial Affair John M McCaslin was also present at the "Select USA" press conference organised by the US Department of Commerce. Jinping also acknowledged works and developments that has taken place in India and said that he is hopeful of more achievements under PM Modi. He also said that China supports India's full membership in Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He also assured that the two sides are fully capable to manage the border issues effectively and that China and India will act as twin engines to promote growth and prosperity in the region. New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): Tibetan activists, on Thursday (September 18), protested against Chinese President Xi Jinping's India visit in New Delhi and accused him of killings in Tibet. Tibetan exiles shouted anti-China slogans, carrying banners demanding 'Free Tibet'. A protester scaled a light pole near Dhaula Kuan area of the Indian capital and waved banner against the Chinese President. Protesters said they are not against Jinping, but protesting for their own people. The agitated protesters protesting outside Hyderabad House, where delegation level talks between PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are underway, were later detained by the police.
