Srinagar/ Hyderabad/ Ayodhya, Oct 06 (ANI): Kashmir marked low-key Eid al-Adha celebrations, as Muslims congregated in open-air grounds for morning prayers on Monday, after the devastating floods in the province last month that left hundreds dead and thousands homeless. More than 75,000 people have been affected in partly submerged homes in Srinagar, where roads have been transformed into stagnant canals strewn with wreckage, trash and dead animals. The festival commemorates the Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail to God. In national capital Delhi, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi along with many other offered prayers on the occasion. Naqvi wished public on the occasion and prayed for peace. People in Bhopal too offered prayers at the mosque. Believers in Ajmer also offered prayers while praying for world peace. To celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, Muslims sacrifice animals including cow, goat, sheep and camel according to their purchasing power on any of the three days of Eid.
