New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): German Foreign Minister Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, in New Delhi and paid homage to the peace icon. Steinmeier along with the German Ambassador, Michael Steiner also visited the National Gandhi Museum at Rajghat. Steinmeier arrived in New Delhi on Saturday for a three-day visit to hold political and business talks with India in a bid to boost bilateral trade. Steinmeier is to hold talks with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his counterpart Sushma Swaraj, as well as other high-ranking Indian politicians on Monday. Sep 8, 2014

Rahul Gandhi irks women in UP for not hearing their water, electricity woes

Munshiganj, Sept 05 (ANI): Women's wing of Bharatiya Kisan Union, a farmer's union, on Friday (September 05) protested in Munshiganj village of Uttar Pradesh, on being denied a meeting with Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi with whom they wanted to share their woes regarding scarcity of electricity and water for their fields. Munshiganj is located in the Raebarelli district of Uttar Pradesh, a constituency under the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Women in the area wanted to meet Sonia's son and scion of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, to discuss the prevailing problems of water and electricity. Protesters blamed the government for ignoring the needs of the farmers and entering into business with industrialists.
