Police tighten security after threats to India-Pakistan bus service

Amritsar, Nov 25 (ANI): Police in Punjab on Tuesday (November 25) heightened the security of bus plying between Amritsar and Lahore after receiving threats of militant attack on the bus. In the wake of an explosion on the Pakistan side of the border, which had killed at least 57 people and injured around 70 on November 02, the Indian security forces have been deployed at the International Bus Terminal-Amritsar for 24 hours vigilance. However, an Indian bus driver of the Amritsar-Lahore bus said the threats do not scare them. During a popular flag-lowering ceremony between the two countries on November 02, a bomber tried to get as close as possible to the border in a possible attempt to cause casualties on the Indian side as well. The suicide bombing took place in a car park on the Pakistani side at least 500 meters from the border with India. No Indian troops were hurt in the attack. Nov 25, 2014
