The BJP President reached his party office in Delhi few hours after the court's decision. In a major relief to BJP president Amit Shah, a special CBI court in Mumbai earlier in the day acquitted him in the 2005 Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday expressed its gladness over delivering on its promise of regularizing unauthorized colonies in New Delhi, adding that the decision will provide relief for many residents in the national capital. The Union Cabinet extended the cut-off date for the regularization of unauthorised colonies in New Delhi from March 31, 2002, to June 1, 2014 on Monday. Police arrest suspect behind Assam militant attacks

Sonitpur, Dec 30 (ANI): Police in Assam arrested a suspect behind coordinated militant attacks on tea plantation workers and their families that killed at least 80 people, the deadliest in years. The suspect has been identified as Suklai Basumtari, who is accused of having links with National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB). Police believe that a faction of NDFB, fighting for a separate state for ethnic Bodos, was behind the attacks. Police arrested him from Biswanath Chariali town in Sonitpur district under operation named, 'All Out'. Meanwhile, several media groups appealed people to donate relief materials to victims in relief camps in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur. Some militants may have fled to neighbouring Bhutan while their leader was believed to be in Myanmar, officials and police said, prompting calls for cooperation. Dec 30, 2014

Sonitpur, Dec 28 (ANI): Administrative officials of Assam said with relief materials being provided to victims and army initiating operation in the woods, the overall situation is improving after a tribal militant group had shot dead at least 80 people in the state earlier this week. Political department's commissioner and secretary, Prateek Hajela and chief executive officer (CEO) of Assam state disaster management authority P.K. Tiwary, during a news conference, said total 81 relief camps have been set up across the state and over 101000 people have taken shelter in the camps. Meanwhile, Tiwary said over 50 companies of paramilitary Central Reserve Police force (CRPF) have been deployed in the sensitive areas and more force are coming from neighbouring states like Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
