PM Modi condoles death of Lok Sabha MP Kapil Krishna Thakur

New Delhi, Oct 14 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing away of Lok Sabha MP from Bongaon, Kapil Krishna Thakur. He has extended his condolences to the bereaved family of the TMC leader. According to reports, 73-year-old Thakur breathed his last in a city hospital in Kolkata on Monday. Thakur, who represented Bangaon Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, had been suffering from a lung infection. Party supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid her last respect to Thakur describing his demise as a great loss to the Matua sect of Hindus. His last rites will be performed on Wednesday. Scores of Buddhists assemble for religious festival in northeastern India

Agartala/ Bodh Gaya, Oct 13 (ANI): Scores of Buddhists congregated in the historical monastery of Tripura recently to participate in the 38th 'Kathin Chibor Dan,' one of the main religious festivals of their community. 'Kathin Chibor Dan' means 'Offering of Difficult Monk Robe', an annual colourful festival. The festival is celebrated throughout the world within one month of the conclusion of 'Prabarana Purnima'. The robe that the Buddhist monks wear is known as 'Chibar' and it is believed that the donation of robes to monks is the highest sacrifice, according to Buddhism, and the occasion marks the most significant religious festival of Buddhists. He also added that this festival spreads an important message of sacrifice. Meanwhile, Buddhist monks gathered at the religious site of Bodh Gaya to offer prayers to Lord Buddha during the festival for world peace. Oct 13, 2014

First Look Launch of Bollywood flick 'Happy Ending'

Mumbai, Oct 10 (ANI): Cast and crew of upcoming Bollywood rom-com, 'Happy Ending,' launched its trailer in showbiz capital, Mumbai. The movie, directed by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, and produced by Dinesh Vijayan, stars veteran Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Govinda, alongside Ileana D'Cruz, Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin. The film revolves around the life of an Indian writer in America who has had a dry spell. His writing skills are put to test when he has to write a Bollywood movie. His journey is caught between discovering love and finding the inspiration for his film. Khan, who plays the lead, Yudi, said that film was progressive and a spoof on regular romantic comedies. The soundtrack of the film has been created by Bollywood music directing duo, Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya. 'Happy Ending' is set to hit theatres on November 21, 2014. Oct 10, 2014
