Former US Vice-president Al Gore, a prominent climate activist, met with President-elect Donald Trump on 5 December.Trump has called man-made climate change a hoax while Gore is one of the best known crusaders in the fight against it. During the 2016 US presidential election Gore said Trump’s polices would ‘take us toward a climate catastrophe’. After the meeting, Gore called it ‘extremely interesting’. Top Indian politician Jayalalithaa Jayaram, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, dies aged 68

The Chief Minister of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalithaa Jayaram, has died at the age of 68. Also known as Amma (mother), she suffered a cardiac arrest on 4 December. She had been ailing in hospital since September. Jayalalithaa was a controversial figure with a string of corruption scandals throughout her political career. Former actress and leader of India’s southern Tamil Nadu State Jayalalithaa Jayaram is being treated for a cardiac arrest suffered on 4 December. Metropolitan police has released CCTV footage of a man robbing an elderly woman in East Finchley.The woman in her 80s was robbed around 3pm on 1 March in Thomas More Way.A man can be seen following her before pulling her to the ground and taking her handbag.He then fled the crime scene in a grey Volkswagen Golf.The woman was taken to hospital with injuries to her face and knee.
