CPI (M) targets WB Govt after Hindustan Motors suspends operations at Uttarpara

Kolkata, May 25 (ANI): The CPI (M) on Sunday targeted the TMC led West Bengal government, over the suspension of work declared at the Uttarpara plant of Hindustan Motors in West Bengal, by its owners. Party leader Shyamal Chakraborty said that the West Bengal government is not looking at the problems of the workers who have not got their salary for the past 6 months. The CK Birla owned auto flagship Hindustan Motors, which has been making iconic brand- Ambassador, on Saturday declared suspension of work at its Uttarpara plant. The company sent a notice to this effect to stock exchanges citing low productivity, large accumulation of liabilties, critical shortage of funds and lack of demand for the core product-Ambassador cars as the reasons for the shut down. People visit beaches, water parks to cool off in summer heat

Visakhapatnam/ Kolkata, May 24 (ANI): As there is no respite from the scorching sun in most of the parts of India, people are opting for cooler ways to escape the sizzling summer heat. In Visakhapatnam, people toiling under heat wave headed to a beach to cool off and take bath in the sea water. The residents were seen carrying umbrellas and drinking fruit juices to protect themselves from the sun and beat the heat. The roadside juice vendors also did brisk business as people thronged the kiosks for refreshing cold beverages. May 24, 2014
