Rahul Gandhi visits cyclone Hudhud-hit Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam, Oct 19 (ANI): Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday took stalk of the situation in cyclone Hudhud-hit Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, along with the party leaders. The death toll from a cyclone that hit the east coast last week has risen to 41, as authorities struggle to restore power, transport and communication links and shelter 150,000 people forced to abandon their homes. Gandhi took a stroll of the cyclone affected areas, where the disaster-hit victims flocked around him to share their grievances. Shashi Tharoor removed as Congress spokesperson

New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor was on Monday removed from the post of spokesperson of the party. The decision came after Congress President Sonia Gandhi accepted the recommendation of AICC disciplinary committee to remove Tharoor from the list of spokespersons. Accepting the decision of the party, Tharoor said that he accepted the decision taken by the leadership as a loyal party worker. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) had earlier complained against Tharoor, accusing him of praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies.
