It was the pedestrians and two-wheeler riders who suffered the brunt of heat the most and looked for ways to beat it. Locals were seen carrying umbrellas, wearing protective clothing and drinking fruit juice to protect themselves. Roadside juice vendors did brisk business as locals thronged shops for refreshing cold beverages. While the heat waves are likely to continue for the next several days in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, according to the meteorological department, there will be some respite for people in North India. Kolkata, May 30 (ANI): A sweets shop in Kolkata city of West Bengal made a replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy from sweets as soccer lovers await the start of mega event. While the original World Cup trophy is made of gold and two rings of malachite stones, the trophy in Kolkata meanwhile, is made from traditional sweet called kheer (rice pudding). The owner of the sweet shop, Sudip Mallick, said Kolkata is football crazy city and this replica was made for the people to enjoy the sport, which is scheduled to start from June 12. The customers seemed really pleased with Mallick’s replica of the World Cup.
