New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Politican reactions poured in as chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Leela Samson resigned citing reasons of 'interference and corruption' after the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) apparently cleared the controversial film Messenger of God ( MSG) that stars Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Samson said the reasons cited are alleged "interference, coercion and corruption of panel members and officers of the organization who are appointed by the ministry." Jan 16, 2015

Jammu, Jan 15 (ANI): General Officer Commanding (GOC), 16 Corps, Lt Gen KH Singh on Thursday said that Indian Army is prepared for any incident that may unfold. Singh said that the counter infiltration posture is firmly in place and that infiltration bid will be eliminated if any attempt is made. Lt General Singh also added that there are inputs that terrorists might try to attack soft targets including schools and civilian areas ahead of US President Barack Obama's visit later in January. Vikaspuris church vandalised by unknown miscreants

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): A church in west Delhi's Vikaspuri area was vandalised by unknown miscreants early on Wednesday morning, officials said. The incident came to light when officials of Our Lady of Graces church noticed broken shards of glass and statues inside the premises and informed the police. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the church and the footage show two men approaching the church at 4:19 AM. Police officials rushed to spot and are currently scrutinizing the CCTV footage for more details. Jan 14, 2015

New Delhi, Jan 14 (ANI): Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said that former DRDO Chief Avinash Chander's tenure had finished in November and Chander was on contract for the next three years. Parrikar said he had recommended that such a senior position cannot be held by a person on contract. He further stated that no new name has yet been decided as Chander's successor. Meanwhile, Indian Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan said that removal of DRDO chief was government's decision. Colourful birds thrill spectators at fair in Siliguri

Siliguri, Jan 14 (ANI): A bird fair organised to mark 152nd birth anniversary of philosopher-monk Swami Vivekananda attracts bird lovers in large numbers in West Bengal. The seven-day-long fair began on Monday with an aim to spread the message of freedom. Scores of bird lovers, both children and elderly alike, were thrilled to watch distinct species of birds at the fair being held in Siliguri city. While excited children tried to touch ostriches, many others clicked photographs with various species of parrots. A spectator Arabindo Das said that such fairs are very educative for children. The fair is being organised by Siliguri Shailendra Smriti Pathagar-O-Club.
