KCR takes oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana

Hyderabad, June 02 (ANI): Following the birth of India's 29th state Telangana, TRS Chief KC Rao was sworn in as the first Chief Minister of the state on Monday. His party TRS had earlier won the mandate by winning 62 of the 119 seats in the newly formed Telangana Assembly. Rao will head a cabinet of 11 ministers which also include his son and nephew. Pune, June 01 (ANI): Former Indian President Pratibha Patil poised to celebrate 84th birth anniversary of the heritage train Deccan Queen or Deccan Queen Express which was the pride of the British, as it connected two major cities of Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra. To mark the occasion train model made in cake was cut by Patil and was distributed among the attendees. Locally known as "Dakhan ki Rani", it started its first journey as a deluxe train on June 01, 1930. The frames of the coach were manufactured in England but the coach itself was manufactured in a Mumbai's Matunga workshop, which still exists today and caters largely to the maintenance of the local trains.
