TRS not to merge with Congress

Hyderabad, Mar 4 (ANI): Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) Chief K Chandrashekar Rao, has denied merger with Congress party. Congress leader Digvijay Singh had earlier hinted that the TRS will merge with the Congress. He had said that the consultation process between the two parties was over. However, ending days of speculation and dashing the hopes of Congress, the TRS ruled out any merger with the Congress. K Chandrashekar Rao had joined hands with TDP against Congress for the 2009 elections. But his party had suffered a serious setback and won only two Lok Sabha seats and 10 Assembly seats in the region. Mar 4, 2014

Cabinet approves President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Friday decided to impose President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh, which is being split to create the new state of Telangana. The state has been without a chief minister after N. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned from the post and the Congress Party to protest against the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, 2013, which paved the way for the creation of the new state of Telangana.
